Distant Members

For our members who are too far away to carry out research in East Ayrshire,
we offer these facilities.
RESEARCH
We will carry out specific research inquiries in Ayrshire, free except for travel, postage etc.
PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICE
We will offer to take photographs (and/or videos, if compatible with your country)
of places, churches, headstones etc, again free except for expenses.
CENSUS INQUIRIES
We have quick access to all full Ayrshire 1851, 1881 and 1891 Census Returns, which are indexed,
and can obtain full information from them for you.
POOR RELIEF
We are involved in an ongoing project to index Poor Relief Applications 1845 - 1900
We have indexes of over 25,000 names, Including Applicants family etc,
many of them from out.
BIRTH MARRIAGE & DEATH CERTIFICATES
NOTE: This service has been withdrawn till further notice.
Post 1855 Birth, Marriage & Death Certificates, copies can be obtained at a minimal cost
(West of Scotland - Strathclyde Area). NOTE: These will be full copies from the original film
but not certified.
OTHER RECORDS
I.G.I, Old Parish Records, Sasine Registers, Maps, Valuation Rolls, Directories, Kirk Sessions Records,
Monumental Inscriptions, Newspapers, held locally can be accessed on your behalf.

Please let us know if you are visiting the area and require assistance. We will be pleased to
help in any way we can.

Please remember that your society is run entirely by volunteers and it may not always be possible to get a volunteer to work on your request immediately. In the meantime why not post a message on the research forum or members interests pages. These pages are viewed by the entire membership.
